Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds Celebrate Their Own Downfall at Blake Lively’s Hand, Mere Week After Release

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, the ‘IT’ couple of Hollywood, are currently going head-to-head at the box office. While Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s Deadpool & Wolverine continues to reach new heights as a blockbuster, Lively is here to put an end to their box office domination with her upcoming romantic drama, It Ends With Us. But despite the expected box office showdown, it seems the trio will remain close-knit and supportive of each other.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman recently showed their support for Blake Lively, even though the Gossip Girl alum poses a huge threat of dethroning Deadpool & Wolverine from its #1 spot.

Just weeks after Blake Lively turned heads at the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere in her Ladypool outfit, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds have shown up to return the favor at the premiere of It Ends With Us. The trio was all smiles as they posed together on the pink carpet in New York City. The Shawn-Levy-directed anti-heroes movie had a spectacular $211 million domestic box office opening.

It Ends With Us, meanwhile, which had a budget of $25 million, is projected to open with at least $30 million based on its pre-sales. While Deadpool & Wolverine is likely to remain strong in the long run, It Ends With Us could outshine it on opening weekend. The reason is that Lively's film is not just another book adaptation; it is Colleen Hoover’s magnum opus. Plus, this movie marks Lively’s full-fledged return to the big screen. But appearing on the red carpet is not the only way Ryan Reynolds is backing his wife’s movie.

Having Ryan Reynolds on board for a project’s promotion is a surefire way to guarantee success. The marketing genius knows exactly what needs to be done at the last minute to turn up the excitement. Recently, just two days before the release of It Ends With Us, Ryan Reynolds did a hilarious interview with Brandon Sklenar, who plays Blake Lively's love interest in the film. Like a doting husband, Reynolds grilled the visibly unamused Sklenar in the promotional video. But that was just the beginning.

Reynolds even brought in his mother, Tammy Reynolds, and his Deadpool & Wolverine co-star, Hugh Jackman, to give his wife’s on-screen love interest even more of a hard time. Given how Reynolds and Lively’s humor and support for each other’s projects have worked wonders, this promotional video was just the last-minute boost It Ends With Us needed. That said, despite the box office competition, it is heartwarming to see Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman continuously backing one another.
