Over the years, the Bad Boys film series has given fans solid fan-pairs on-screen. As fans await the release of the fourth installment of the movie, they can’t help but notice how bringing back Gabrielle Union’s character, Syd, could unite the franchise. Reinstating his role in Bad Boys 4 will also help maintain continuity between the TV spinoff series, L.A.’s Finest, and the film series. Fans are still awaiting confirmation about Union’s presence in the upcoming film.

The actress did not appear in Bad Boys for Life, which came as a shock to the fans. Apart from cop buddies Smith and Lawrence, multiple popular faces, including Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, and Paola Núñez will be reprising their roles in the upcoming movie. Bad Boys 4‘s release date has yet again been delayed following the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA protest. The studio has pushed the film’s release to January 2024. Despite a push in the release date, the studio seems to be working in full swing as the directors recently shed some light on the upcoming movie.

Bad Boys remains to be amongst one of the biggest outings of Will Smith as an actor. The actor delivered a series of record breaking films alongside his cop buddy, Martin Lawrence. However, while the Men In Black star did an incredible job, he was not the first choice to play detective Mike Lowrey. Apparently, the producer revealed SNL comedian Jon Lovitz was the producer’s first choice.

However, Dana Carvey who was supposed to play Lovitz’s detective duo called it off. The reason which was supposedly unknown paved the way for the Pursuit of Happyness actor. As hilarious as it sounds, it was not Smith but Lawrence who impressed the directors more while working on Bad Boys 4.
