However, it was the Modern Family star’s Instagram post that ended up outing the DC superhero’s spot for the night at the prestigious event.

While the world was still abuzz from the 40-year-old star’s embodiment of Superman in 2013, Vergara’s peek into the rehearsals made his appearance official.

Henry Cavill had the entire world in the palms of his hands in 2016. Fans were excited to know where he would be seated at the Oscars that year. And doing the angel’s job was Sofia Vergara, who shared a photo on her Instagram that left everyone screaming. The picture featured the Colombian star with her back turned during the rehearsal of presenting the Best Foreign Language Film. However, the cropped headshot of The Witcher star as a placeholder gave his spot away.

On the night of the show, he ended up presenting the Best Picture segment along with Kerry Washington. But while Vergara’s post may have let the cat out of the bag, Henry Cavill’s appearance was already much awaited. It was due to the fact that his second Superman film was set to release less than a month after the event. The film was the 2016 blockbuster, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The Warner Bros. film stole all the hype even at the Oscars.

While Henry Cavill was open to discussing details of his night, the star clammed up a little when questioned about his then-upcoming film. However, he did decide to spill a few secrets.

Ahead of introducing The Martian and The Big Shot with Washington, Henry Cavill was spotted having a chat with none other than, E! News’ Ryan Seacrest. The actor opened up about his night at the event before getting into details about Batman V Superman. From sitting with Tom Hardy to making a sniper joke when asked about the film, he showed fans how naturally being a star came to him. However, the only revelation Cavill gave about the film was the answer to whose suit is more comfortable.

Seacrest asked the star who had it easier, him or the Batman star Ben Affleck. Unsurprisingly, the actor answered, saying that his costume was “slightly more comfortable” than the others. Less than a month later, the film was released and fans got to watch their favorite hero in action again, but some thought that maybe the star should have done a Man of Steel 2 before the former.
