The MET Gala is one of, if not, the most anticipated event in Hollywood where the stars of the glitzy town and the fashion industry come together. The MET is synonymous with serving. For the students at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Costume Institute, it serves as a means to raise funds. For the audience that watches it through the screens, it serves as timeless entertainment and also evokes just a tad bit of a superiority complex.

As for the guests that get all decked up to attend the event, they get served a Michelin-star meal and also fight to be at the center of attention. The MET Gala 2023 was all about honoring the legacy of Karl Lagerfeld. While the celebrities did their part by smartly incorporating elements of his life or designs into their dress, the Museum gave back by putting together a menu of his favorite dishes and drinks.

What did the Gala 2023 menu have to offer?

Lagerfeld, as described by a close friend and editor-in-chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour, was the life of the party. Moreover, he also traveled quite a bit, which resulted in him acquiring a knack for different spices and flavors worldwide. Therefore, Oliver Cheng, who was the mastermind behind the menu, studied the various parties that the designer hosted and came up with a ravishing menu. According to a report by Vogue, King Salmon, a favorite of Lagerfeld, Salmon, was the most important part of the dinner.

“Chilled spring pea soup with baby vegetables, lemon crème fraîche, and truffle snow, followed by Ōra King salmon with vegetable nage, asparagus, pickled strawberries, and radish” made up for the dinner as per Vogue.

Celebrities were not allowed to take their phone inside to tweet reviews. Meanwhile, fans have their two cents to give.

An effective and enjoyable party pack, along with a good outfit and good company, also guarantees a well-cooked meal. There is no hint of doubt that Oliver Cheng put his absolute best in preparing the meal to serve the MET 2023 guests.  However, it was not enough to impress the Internet. Especially when they figured that Diet Coke was also served at the supposedly posh and elite-only event.

Twitterati all turned into Gordon Ramsay as they saw the limited food choices that the MET Gala 2023 had. While not a single A-lister has had anything bad to say about the food, some bought their own Chick-fil-A and others complained about not finding bread, making us think if we should just take another pill of ‘do not judge a book by its cover’ and add another spoon of pasta to our plates.
