Lisa Kudrow achieved a new milestone in her life turning 60 on Sunday. Most people know the actress from the hit 90s sitcom Friends. Her character Phoebe Buffay has taken an inevitable place in viewers’ hearts around the globe. Thanks to this talented star who made this character stand out for her quirky personality and sense of individuality. It is hard to picture anyone other than this American beauty portraying Phoebe. But fans might not know this isn’t the only iconic character that became famous because of her and there is more to the story.

We all know that Phoebe Buffay had a twin sister, Ursula, on Friends, and the two never got along because of their opposite nature. While Phoebe was a warmhearted woman, her sibling seemed to be quite cold-hearted. And even though she tried to connect with her several times, she got nothing in the end. Fans might be surprised to know that the iconic character of Ursula was not originally part of the storyline. Instead, it was one of Lisa Kudrow’s previously played characters that inspired Ursula on the show.

Before landing the role of Phoebe, the Emmy winner played the character of Ursula in NBC’s Mad About You. She was a rude attendant who worked at Paul and Jamie’s favorite diner. As both shows happened in New York, it was quite easy for the creators to bring that character into their show as David Crane’s husband was a writer on that NBC sitcom.
