The Morning Show‘s showrunner, Charlotte Stoudt, recently received the Variety Showrunners Award. At the venue where she received the award, the SCAD TV Fest in Atlanta, Stoudt shared with Variety how she wanted the storyline to focus on abortion and Roe v. Wade. However, she faced a small setback while wanting to do an on-location shoot in Coney Island. This required her to shut down the entire Coney Island, something everyone deemed to be “insane“, except for Jennifer Aniston. The Friends alum used her “magic” to make it happen.
While everyone thought this decision was impossible, Aniston candidly stated, “oh, yeah, I want to shut Coney Island down“. And the next thing they knew, Aniston was filming scenes in Coney Island with her co-star, Mad Men actor Jon Hamm. Ever since the release of the show’s third season, one aspect that has gained a lot of attention was Aniston and Hamm’s intimate scenes.
During a promotional interview, Aniston shared details about the filming process for Alex and Paul’s love scene in The Morning Show.

Jennifer Aniston and her co-star Reese Witherspoon had a sit-down with Variety on December 11, 2023. While chatting, Aniston showered praise on director Mimi Leder, saying her presence on set made her feel “protected“. But she did not stop there; she also gave kudos to Jon Hamm, describing him as a “gentleman“, which made the entire filming process a walk in the park.
She shared that Hamm ensured she was comfortable after every move and cut. When asked if she required an “intimacy coordinator“, the actress responded with, “What does this mean“. The environment was so comfortable for her that she did not feel the need to seek assistance from the intimacy coordinator. Aniston trusted the director’s plan and proceeded accordingly.
