Initially, there was a deal between Pitt and the jeweler that the actor would design an exclusive collection and the Cake actress would appear in the advertisement. However, they did not officially reveal how much the Hollywood celebrities would get paid for this deal. Moreover, Aniston and Pitt agreed to acknowledge the designer’s name in the press release as well. Until that moment, Damiani was supposed to be quiet and break the mold after making the ring.

The jeweler made the now ex-couple unwilling participants in one of her ad campaigns instead. However, in 2002, they resolved the lawsuit and Silvia Damiani also apologized for the unfortunate misunderstanding.
