Long before he had ever donned the red cape, Henry Cavill was a staple at acting. The British actor who started his career at the age of 17 has held tremendous expertise in a wide variety of genres. Ranging from historical period dramas to high-octane action, the actor has played his part excellently in all and, by doing so, left an indelible mark. The fan-favorite Superman made waves when he exited his long-standing Netflix franchise, The Witcher. Although his exit did have an exploding impact, it was all for the better.

Helming another major franchise, the 40-year-old will showcase his skills from the streaming fantasy in ways fans may not have imagined.

Reeling in the void left behind by Henry Cavill, fans are in for a treat as the Chad Stahelski-directed Highlander reboot will bring his skills from both Superman and The Witcher into play. A few months back, the director teased his movie to be a sort of John Wick with swords adventure. Additionally, Cavill will be taking on the role of the sword-wielding Scottish immortal Connor MacLeod. The character is to showcase excellent sword-fighting skills along with adrenaline-kicking action.

Long-time fans of Cavill are well-versed in his charismatic action chops and his masterful sword skills thanks to The Witcher. During his stint as Geralt of Rivia, the actor gave his all to master the sword. Such was his dedication that he would keep three swords at home and another four on sets to dummy practice for long hours. Finally, lifting weights five days a week and with a focus on building his muscular stature, the actor is more or less ready to get the cameras rolling on Highlander.

Henry Cavill would be returning with a bang alongside Dua Lipa for the spy-thriller, Argylle. The Matthew Vaughn directorial is set to stand apart from major franchises of similar tropes such as James Bond. Barring a conversation-starter hairstyle, the upcoming flick will see the Man of Steel actor play a character of the same name who also headlines a novel. The meta franchise, with a whirlwind tinge of twisting fiction, is set to be a franchise of its own.

Soon after, landing in the same year is The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. The flick will once again see Cavill take on an action spy role alongside Hero Fiennes Tiffin. Following the Guy Ritchie movie are several other projects in development. A Warhammer 40K franchise in collaboration with his girlfriend, Natalie Viscuso, is also in the tow.
