As unimaginable as it sounds, the 53-year-old actor along with other cast members had an issue with their co-star, LeBlanc. In his memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, the 17 Again actor finally shed light on his feud with the co-star. Apparently, when the fan-favorite show, Friends, ended, LeBlanc got his own spin-off series named Joey in 2004 going behind other members’ backs. And after holding grudges for 18 long years, the author of the book finally addressed it in his memoir.
Notably, Joey did not do well on television despite being a Friends spin-off series. But as the American actor wrote in his book how he felt LeBlanc went behind their backs to get the show for himself. Moreover, along with fans, the cast members also expected a cameo in the spin-off series as it was from their own show. But unfortunately, it never happened and soon, the series also got canceled.
However, Perry also admitted he was not going to punch his friend in the face because they were all grown-ups. Matt LeBlanc even went to see the first play Perry ever wrote. Despite that, Joey did make him feel betrayed.
Interestingly, the Fools Rush In star did not bring up the issue before writing about it in his memoir, even in the reunion special.
Matthew Perry did not mention this grudge on this special occasion as well
After years of waiting, Friends: The Reunion finally happened in May 2021. While fans were in a state of frenzy literally, not only Perry but also none of the cast members talked about their feelings about the spin-off. Although there is still no official comment about this feud from any of the Friends cast. But on the occasion of this reunion, everyone shared happy tears while remembering their days together.
