Sydney Sweeney and her candor will always be paired with her beaming smile. The actress has embraced her It Girl persona and makes sure she arrives in style, always. With her hit to fame after Euphoria, she became a sensation with her role as the character Cassie. The very Y2K fashion and glamour that Cassie carried became the very setting stone for how Sydney Sweeney made her debut in Hollywood. And carrying that forward in her diva-like personality whilst remaining bubbly is what makes her so likable. 

The actress, who sets fashion statements and makes them trending, has a rather interesting reason why she loves doing this one thing on her phone. Striking up a conversation, Sweeney got candid about why she enjoys “hanging up on somebody” for this specific reason. 

Sydney Sweeney “feels very Y2K”

The actress got into a conversation with Pop Sugar where she revealed her favorite choice of phone. After her recent event in Seoul with Samsung, Sydney Sweeney is hooked to the flip phone, a Galaxy Z Flip5. Adorned with charms and a keychain in a Barbiecore aesthetic, the actress enjoys the ‘flip’ feature of the phone. She added excitedly, “Hanging up on somebody with a flip phone is a lot more fun.” She also said how the ‘Flex window,’ which is an external cover screen, is her favorite part. 

The Flex window lets the user add customizable features, which are visible to your eye when the phone is closed. The clamshell-like design works like the old buttoned flip phones but with all the features of a modern smartphone. This means it boasts a touch screen, the same regular smartphone features, and the classic “flip” with newer and smarter customizations. One can add selfies, widgets, or just funky background designs. In Sweeney’s words, this smart flip phone will make you “feel very Y2K.” 

This love for the 90s aesthetic phone did not come out of the blue. The White Lotus actress recently attended an event in Korea, and here is what went down. 

The Samsung Ball and its recent collaborations with Hollywood stars

The Handsmaid’s Tale actress donned a chic Rokh dress befitting a ball event and graced the Samsung Ball that took place in Seoul, Korea. As a collaboration with Samsung, the actress attended their promotional event for the latest editions of Galaxy Flip, the Fold, the new tablet, and the watch. Sweeney is not the only Hollywood star who got together with Samsung for their new series of drops. 

Jaden Smith and MSFTsrep made its collaboration with Samsung in the sustainable fashion sector. The Pursuit of Happyness actor designed the accessories for the new products in the line. They had the bonus of being completely biodegradable and climate-conscious.
