In 2016, Henry Cavill sat down with Elle to talk about his career and dating life. During the conversation, he was asked about the most painful thing that a woman had said to him. In his response, the actor recalled his former girlfriend, who once asked him to go away because she was meeting a friend. Henry Cavill revealed how he was supposed to be gone for one week, but his then-girlfriend asked him to stay away longer. “My head was pretty wrecked,” remarked the former Superman.

Cavill continued how he felt like “hitting a wall” seeing how things took the wrong turn in his relationship. That moment brought back his childhood trauma, making him feel as if he did something wrong. “It’s that feeling of hopelessness, I guess,” added the Enola Holmes star. Though for fans the actor has always been an iconic image of perfection, it is only natural that he too struggled with relationships like others.
