Henry Cavill may have put a pause on his swordsmanship skills since he left the doors of The Witcher for Netflix. However, Chad Stahelski found the righteous way in which the lost swordsman could hone and showcase his genius in the Highlander reboot. Described as “John Wick with swords”, Highlander’s remake has had fans on edge since the talks first began.

In an unexpected turn of events, Redanian Intelligence recently reported about a shift for the eagerly awaited Highlander reboot featuring former witcher Henry Cavill, under the direction of Chad Stahelski. According to the latest reports, filming for the Highlander reboot is now scheduled to commence in Q1 2025, as Cavill prepares to take a ride to the Medieval era to fill the shoes of Connor MacLeod

This comes after earlier indications from an interview with Variety in February, where Cavill had hinted at a potential start in July 2024. With these recent developments, it appears there has been a slight delay from the original schedule. The report also detailed possible filming locations, with Scotland, Italy, and Hong Kong emerging as prime candidates. As for the film's theatrical release, Lionsgate chairman Joe Drake has confirmed that Highlander is set for a 2026 debut.

Henry Cavill made a special appearance at this year's CinemaCon in Las Vegas in April, where he joined the Lionsgate motion picture group for a brief Q&A session. Discussing the eagerly anticipated Highlander reboot helmed by Chad Stahelski, the British actor disclosed that he had already commenced training for the film. Expressing his fondness for "original movies" like Highlander, Cavill tantalized his fans with a hint about what he has in store.

"If you think you've seen me do sword work before, you haven't seen anything yet," remarked the ex-witcher, alluding to his monster-hunting prowess from The Witcher. While Cavill and Stahelski have remained tight-lipped about specific plot details, they hinted at delving deep into the characters' journeys and challenges in Highlander. Thus, if a slight delay results in a reimagined masterpiece aiming to surpass Cavill's own remarkable skills, who would object when it promises a journey into the legendary world of Connor MacLeod, starring the famed former Geralt?
