Henry Cavill’s fandom was the subject of back-to-back shockers fairly recently. First, Cavill had already marked his exit from The Witcher after season three. Soon after, news broke out of James Gunn rebooting the DC Studios with David Corenswet to replace Cavill as Superman. The British actor who had donned the red cape for nearly nine years was marked with an unceremonious exit from two of his most iconic roles.

However, Cavill’s departure did cost the DC studios. Not only did it face fans’ backlash, but also a hefty paycheck to the actor for his last two cameos.

It is no secret that DC’s latest slate of movies has flopped pretty hard on their face. The most recent ones – Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, Zachary Levi’s Shazam: Fury of the Gods, and Ezra Miller’s Flash were all critical and box-office failures. Out of those three movies, Henry Cavill starred in two of them. First, the actor marked a nearly ten-second cameo in the post-credits scene of Black Adam. Followed by a mere two-three second faceless cameo of his Superman in Flash. As reported by Startefacts, Henry Cavill received a whopping $250,000 for both of his appearances.

His cameo with Black Adam breathed hope into the faltering fandom which, nonetheless, was short-lived. As it is now common knowledge, Henry Cavill was replaced with what Gunn said to be a “younger actor”. Regardless, in a further breakdown by the same article, Cavill’s salary turns out to be a staggering $20,000 for a second of screen time! In stark contrast, his entire salary from Man of Steel was an upfront $300,000. Meanwhile, his last major DC outing, Justice League, landed him a $20 million paycheck.

Henry Cavill’s salary on The Witcher increased with every season. And rightfully so when the actor carried the show on his shoulders. In the first season of the Netflix show, the British actor made about $400,000 per episode. However, by the end of the second season, his cumulative collection rose to a massive $11.2 million. Furthermore, his collections from the third season are not yet disclosed, which could further up his haul. Regardless, now that he is no longer the Geralt of Rivia, Cavill is moving ahead to other projects.

Henry Cavill is to star opposite a star-studded cast involving Samuel L. Jackson in a spy thriller, Argylle. Additionally, he is set to helm the Warhammer 40,000 series, overseen by his girlfriend, Natalie Viscuso. The actor is also set to star in a Highlander reboot as well as making potential inroads into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
