Soon after, news broke out of<strong> James Gunn rebooting the DC Studios with David Corenswet to replace Cavill as Superman</strong>. The British actor who <strong>had donned the red cape for nearly nine years</strong> was marked with an unceremonious exit from two of his most iconic roles.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">However, Cavill’s departure did cost the DC studios. Not only did it face fans’ backlash, but also a hefty paycheck to the actor for his last two cameos.</span></p>
<h2><b>DC Studios paid its Superman a staggering sum of money for a few seconds of screen time</b></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It is no secret that <strong>DC’s latest slate of movies has flopped pretty hard on their face.</strong> The most recent ones &#8211; Dwayne Johnson’s </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Black Adam, </span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Zachary Levi’s </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Shazam: Fury of the Gods, </span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">and Ezra Miller’s </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Flash</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;"> were all critical and box-office failures. Out of those three movies, Henry Cavill starred in two of them. In stark contrast, <strong>his entire salary from </strong></span><strong><i>Man of Steel </i></strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>was an upfront $300,000.</strong> Meanwhile, his last major DC outing, </span><i>Justice League, </i>landed him a $20 million paycheck.</p>
