Henry Cavill's challenges seem to grow more pronounced each day, with one setback following another. After his farewell from The Witcher and DCU, Cavill's comeback also hit a rough patch with the underwhelming box office reception of Argylle. Although his surprise cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine offered a moment of redemption, his MCU debut has not managed to counterbalance the issues facing his upcoming Warhammer 40,000 project.

As the deadline approaches, Cavill’s Warhammer 40,000 endeavor faces a critical juncture: it must decide whether to do or die.

According to a recent IGN report, Games Workshop has emphasized that Amazon’s highly anticipated Warhammer 40,000 film and TV series will not proceed until both companies finalize their "creative guidelines" by December 2024. In its annual financial report, Games Workshop outlined the exclusive rights deal with Amazon for the Warhammer 40,000 film and TV series, with an option for Amazon to secure similar rights for the Warhammer Fantasy universe after the initial Warhammer 40,000 projects are released.

Games Workshop announced in December 2023 that it would collaborate with Amazon for a 12-month period, concluding in December 2024, to establish these creative guidelines. The agreement will only move forward once these guidelines are mutually agreed upon. This leaves Games Workshop and Amazon just 5 months to finalize their terms, or the Warhammer 40,000 film and TV series might never see the light of day.

A recent rumor uncovered by YouTuber Arch of The ArchCast channel has been making the rounds online, raising concerns about Henry Cavill’s Warhammer 40,000 live-action project. Arch outlined three potential scenarios regarding the agreement between Games Workshop and Amazon, including a deadline for the writing team to produce a script for the series. The writers reportedly have a “few more months” to complete the scripts and secure approval within the timeline.

If they miss this deadline, they may need to request an extension. Should they fail to meet the revised deadline, the entire project could be "shelved." Arch, citing an Amazon insider, noted that while these rumors are not yet confirmed, there are worries since writers have not been hired, plans are still pending, and funding has not been allocated. With this latest report adding to the concerns, it appears Cavill’s Warhammer 40,000 project does have a rocky slope ahead.
