Matthew Vaughn appeared on Josh Horowitz’s podcast Happy Sad Confused a month ago, shortly after the trailer release. In the podcast, he shared that fans “have seen nothing yet as Universal Studios has only used “the first 28 minutes of the film” in the trailer. He consciously refrained from giving anything more than a glimpse to fans. This was done in an effort to heighten their anticipation and curiosity about the upcoming flick.

Vaughn also shared earlier that through Argylle he will be breaking all the stereotypical spy tropes, which he considers “ridiculous. He also took a slight dig at the James Bond movies through a statement by Roger Moore because of its over-the-top depiction of spies. He believes a good spy needs to be subtle and inconspicuous, and should not draw attention. This is something he believes will make Argylle stand out from the rest of the spy franchises.
