Henry Cavill to Be Replaced Soon, James Gunn May Chose His Next Superman From David Corenswet or Nicholas Hoult
Who will wear the Superman cape for the next James Gunn movie? The question remains, months after Henry Cavill announced his retirement from the role. Whether or not that was by choice, DC has been feeling the heat of fans as they shortlist on their next Superman. But names only keep adding up as fans push their own favorite actors, although filling in the shoes of Cavill will be no easy task.
For years, people have had a fixated image of what Superman looks like. But Gunn has a ten-year plan for DC, including a Superman actor that can keep reprising the role. Now two more actors have joined on the list of potential Superman.

We may just have our new Superman soon. According to Hollywood Reporter, Nicholas Hoult and David Corenswet are in the race to takeover the world of justice with the red cape. Now, Hoult was said to be getting cast for the role of Lex Luthor. But reports state that the Renfield actor is being considered for the lead role instead of the iconic DC villain. This would also leave the team hunting for their Lex Luthor.
Meanwhile, David Corenswet, who is known for his role in Pearl, is said to have progressed to test screening, which may happen in June. Other than these two, the names that have come up are Tom Brittney and Andrew Richardson. Perhaps their British accents could help them transition smoothly after Cavill.
Although there could be more candidates to the list that are hit to be released.

What does DC want from their new Superman?
In order to compete with Marvel, the new DC head wants a Superman that is more likeable, and someone that children would want to hug. Which is supposed to be opposite to the ‘darker’ character from Snyderverse. Since the new face will probably appear in multiple movies, he wants a younger actor to play the roles. A trait that 42-year-old Cavill can not satisfy. However, Hoult is already 33, so it is a wonder why Cavill would be replaced by another actor of an older age.
It will be seen who Gunn chooses to play Superman and whether the audience accept him.
