Ever since 2013, Henry Cavill has become a Hollywood fan favorite. While DC’s Superman may have brought him fame and fortune, the actor was not always the easiest to spot in a crowd. Although his striking good looks and muscular build might be a dead giveaway, he seemed to find ways to fly under the radar. That is exactly what happened just one year after the now 40-year-old had shot into the spotlight.

Cavill’s face might be easy to place for most of the world now. However, during a visit to a Michigan sports store years ago, the actor managed to keep his identity on the down low until he was out of the shop.

Henry Cavill’s secret store visit

Back in 2014, Henry Cavill was only beginning to rise to fame in America. With him set to start filming for the Batman vs Superman film, he had made his way to the States to begin training with Michael Blevins. During his visit, the now 40-year-old had stopped by a Michigan sports store to pick up some shoes and training equipment. However, the store owner revealed in a now-deleted post on Meta that no one had recognized the star with his long hair.

Instead, the owner and the staff had thought he was just a regular customer. That was until he had asked for a pair of shoes in “US size” to be brought out to him. His confusion might have been what ended up giving him away. The staff at the store all agreed that Cavill was “very nice” and that he spoke to them nicely. While the actor may not have been trying to trick the sporting store, it was not the last time he was found to be going undercover.

He once laid into his DC character’s alter ego and proved that it was not too hard for him to go unnoticed on the bustling streets of Times Square.

When Henry Cavill was not recognized in Times Square

Back in 2016, Henry Cavill was promoting his film, Batman vs Superman. While the movie had driven DC fans insane, the actor ended up proving that not everyone was that interested. In a deleted post on social media from 2016, the actor could be seen walking the streets of New York in his Superman t-shirt. He walked into a Starbucks and under many billboards that featured his face. However, people did not seem to be able to recognize him.

Although it may have been easy for Cavill to go unnoticed back then, things are not the same now. With his fame from playing Superman till 2023 and his time on Netflix’s The Witcher, he has become quite a prominent figure and one of the top earning British heartthrob on social media today.
