Henry Cavill Once Shared How Kevin Costner and Diane Lane Guided Him Through ‘Man of Steel’
Throughout his career in Hollywood, Henry Cavill has managed to build quite a rapport with his fellow actors. While those friendships came over time in the industry, the star was lucky enough to be blessed with some extremely experienced and supportive co-stars during his breakthrough role in Zack Snyder's 2013 film, Man of Steel.
The superhero film needed the now 40-year-old to face a rather controversial death in the movie. Still a star in Cavill's filmography, the aforementioned scene as revealed by the actor might not have played out the way it did without the guidance of his amazing co-stars, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane.

When Zack Snyder's Man of Steel was released in 2013, fans were surprised to see that the story of Superman had been tweaked more than they had expected. In most stories, the adoptive father of Henry Cavill's character was known to die from a sudden heart attack. However, the film chose to go a more jarring way. In a conversation with Interview Magazine shortly after the film was released, the actor shared how Kevin Costner and Diane Lane had helped him tap into the emotion he needed. The star stated, "They're both really good people and enormously giving."
For Cavill having to act like a who has lost his father, to a tornado, there was a lot of pressure on the star. However, the now 69-year-old had gone out of his way to "do off-camera stuff" for a few of the younger actor's scenes. He continued, "I mean, Kevin was standing 200 meters down the road for a scene where the camera was only on me." While it may have been surprising, the support and guidance ended up working wonders for The Tudors star, who put on a stunning performance.
Although Cavill has since ended his stint as the iconic DC superhero, the actor has continued the tradition of praising his incredible co-stars, sometimes in some rather hilarious ways.

Henry Cavill may no longer be Superman, but that has not stopped the star from picking up new roles. After the failure of his recent film, Argylle, the 40-year-old, seems ready to try again with his latest project, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. With the film set to release next month, the actor has been doing everything he can to promote the film. Most recently, he took to his Instagram with a joke interview with his co-star, Alan Ritchson. In the clip, the former DC star could be seen complaining about the American actor, but the caption told another story.
Cavill contradicted himself in the caption of the post by adding, "Shoutout to "Big AL" which is something I've never called him, but in the vacuum that is Instagram it feels appropriate." The 40-year-old also continued, "Here's to Big AL! He does some seriously cool stuff in this movie." However, fans will have to wait until April 19 to check it out.
