Henry Cavill Once Opened Up About How He Dealt With Zack Snyder’s ‘Man of Steel’ Changing His Life
In recent years, Henry Cavill may have become known for his role on Netflix’s The Witcher. However, that was not his first iconic role. While he might be known for his sword-slinging techniques, the 40-year-old was once adored in the role of the classic DC superhero, Superman. Although he ended up giving up both the franchise spots not so long ago, he shared how he thought his life would change after news of him becoming Superman broke.
While it may have been a decade ago now, once upon a time, the world had not yet witnessed the actor in his most iconic role. Although he expected big changes in his life after everyone found out, it did not happen until a little while later.

Ahead of the Man of Steel premiere way back in 2013, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, and even Zack Snyder sat down with Jake Hamilton for an episode of Jake’s Takes. During his solo conversation with the host, The Tudors star opened up about how his life had changed since his casting and the world finding out he was set to be Superman. While it had happened just a few hours apart from each other, he said that the feeling was “surreal.”
He went on to reveal that his life “didn’t change immediately afterwards.” Instead, Cavill recalled that it “felt like life was about change.” The actor also said that he felt like it was his last few hours of “privacy” and being normal. However, once the news was announced, not much really changed. In fact, it was only after the “commercials” and posters started coming out that he got thrown into the spotlight.
While he soon became a fan favorite after the film finally aired, the Argylle star was forced out of the role to make way for James Gunn’s DC reboot plans.

All of Henry Cavill’s fans may have been distraught over the news of the actor leaving the role. However, once James Gunn cast David Corenswet in the role of Superman, it was game over for everyone. While fans were upset over this sudden and drastic change, it looks like The Man From U.N.C.L.E. star had other plans up his sleeve. Instead of keeping the one role he had as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher, he chose to create a new path for himself with a spy thriller.
While Cavill made waves with a bizarre haircut for his upcoming film Argylle, it is not the only project in his arsenal. Although he has left behind two iconic roles, he also joined hands with director, Guy Ritchie for a couple of intriguing films and even a separate Highlander remake.
