Man of Steel, without a doubt, has featured Henry Cavill in a powerful light. Amidst all the actors who portrayed Superman, it was this British actor who is widely loved in the modern era. However, there had been a lot of talks surrounding the film and its issues with the studio. After several conversations, ultimately, the new DC boss canceled the expansion of Zack Snyder’s vision for the DC hero.

As much hurt as fans felt, it also broke the heart of the writer of the film. And during a recent interview writer, David Goyer opened up about how the studios’ haphazard approach affected the film and sent the internet into a meltdown.

To create a perfectly effective canon, the planning must be extremely organized and foolproof. The Man of Steel writer revealed on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast how the executives of Warner Bros. were in a hurry to create their own MCU. While he appreciated the high ambitions, Goyer also revealed the studio did not plan it well. He added a Superman sequel should have come before Batman vs Superman. But because Warner Bros. wanted to build a shared DC Universe, their focus shifted.

Man of Steel (2013) featured how Clark Kent adapted to the land and became Superman along with his soft side toward Lois Lane, too. Following his life on earth, there came Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016). Along with Batman and Wonder Woman, the film displayed the tension between the two powerful DC heroes. Although there was a plan for Man of Steel 2 as well, it never saw the light. Had there been a sequel to the Superman film, the canon would have been more connected with the DC characters’ storylines.

In the same interview, the 57-year-old writer also opened up about where the studio went wrong. He revealed they were in such a hurry to create their own universe that the executives started building a house in the air. He was referring to the fact that they planned to create a number of films that did not have their scripts ready. In addition to this mismanagement, the executives of the studio also did not stay consistent. Therefore, each time someone new would come with their own vision, leaving the progress scattered. David Goyer’s statement about the mishandling of the studio and the Man of Steel sequel sent fans into a meltdown.
