Recently, Henry Cavill's social media has been abuzz with baby updates as he and Natalie Viscuso prepare to welcome their little Superman. Meanwhile, on the professional front, new information has surfaced about the highly anticipated Highlander reboot, in which Cavill plans to revisit the combat skills he honed in The Witcher. In a recent interview with Collider at the Mediterranean Film Festival in Malta, director Chad Stahelski revealed that filming for the remake will commence in January 2025 in Scotland.
Stahelski mentioned that he would be heading to Scotland on Monday, likely this week, for a final location scout. The film aims to feature Stahelski's signature action style, trading the gunmen trainees for swordsmen this time. However, he emphasized that the movie would not be limited to just sword-fighting sequences as he aims to do justice to the period piece by blending it with sci-fi.
Despite his cautiousness to avoid making the film a show barrel of sword-fight sequences, Stahelski teased fans with the introduction of a new style of sword-fighting, with Cavill, who has already won fans' hearts with his swordsmanship.

However, in a departure from his usual gunfight scenes, the Highlander reboot aims to deliver exhilarating, goosebump-inducing sword-fighting sequences featuring Henry Cavill, who has already showcased similar skills in The Witcher. During his chat with Collider, Stahelski mentioned that his primary focus has been on creating a “new look of action or sword fighting that people could be excited about.”
Stahelski expressed confidence in his cast, describing them as the best he has ever worked with, and praised the trainers and sword fighters involved. With such a talented team, Stahelski is set on redefining sword fighting in the cinema.
