Henry Cavill’s super-flick released in 2013 has a 57% rating on Tomatometer whereas the upcoming Creature Commandos written by James Gunn already has a 93% approval rating. Threading Cavill and Gunn together post-departure has been a stitch in time, but this needle has clearly pricked the nerves of the former’s fanbase.

Fans who have celebrated and lived the era of Superman with Henry Cavill as the poster face have been continuously navigating the struggle to make amends with the new. There have been moments where the fans have softened a bit. However, with the comparisons and projects doubting the Man of Steel, those enthusiasts were not ready to sit back and watch. Flipping the script on critics, fans knew where their heart truly lies, and undeniably it is in the Cavill department.

Henry Cavill’s farewell from DCEU has been the heartbreaker that never feels old. If anything, his references and mentions flood the internet even more as the DCU walks on without him. While love for the Man of Steel is one thing, fans believe comparing a live-action film with 340 reviews to an animated series with 16 reviews is nothing but an “unfair assessment.”

Even the fans who are ready to give a shot to James Gunn’s vision addressed the analysis in a similar tone, waiting on Superman instead to give the final say.
