James Gunn is finally gaining trust among DC fans. The new DC head has begun setting his plans in motion as the company undergoes a major decade-long plan. And fans’ newfound trust in the director has everything to do with volume three of Guardians of the Galaxy. While the movie is set to release, the positive anticipation around it is raising confidence about his work with Superman.

When Henry Cavill announced his exit from the DC universe, it created skepticism about Gunn’s plans. But a fan and pop culture speaker, Matt Ramos recently posted how the creator’s ability to touch fans could mean a positive future for the Superman franchise. The poster along with the tweet shows the superhero hugging a little girl. In a way that represents Gunn’s vision of wanting a hero that is humane and huggable. While Zack Snyder’s Superman was more heroic yet aggressive.

Guardians of the Galaxy consists of Groot, Rocket, and Cosmo, along with Gamora and Peter Quill. The tree, dog, and raccoon have become the new highlight that creatively impressed critics. So if these characters can win hearts, could Gunn manage to create a new uprising with Superman: Legacy?
