Fans are clearly still not giving up on Henry Cavill. The actor broke a million hearts when he announced his exit as Superman. Especially since the news came after news about Man of Steel 2. With James Gunn taking over, the plans of his decade-long change for DC started unraveling. His ideas were different from that of Zack Snyder when it came to Superman. Now the hunt for a younger replacement for Cavill continues with a few actors online on the shortlist.
There is both skepticism and excitement to see what Gunn brings in with Superman Legacy. However, that has not stopped fans from trying to fit in Cavill somewhere as the superhero is set to return to the screens without the actor. While DC deals with the pressure of nursing fans, the fans themselves cannot help but find a way to Cavill in the movie.
Since the movie is called Superman LEGACY I think it’d be cool to honor the legacy of Superman, and a cool way of doing that would potentially be having Henry Cavill cameo as Jor-El, passing the torch to the next generation of Superman. pic.twitter.com/Y7C98EFcb9

One, in particular, suggests that Cavill should play the role of Superman’s father, Jor-El. Fans feel that it would honor the legacy of Superman that way and that he could pass the torch to the next actor playing Superman. Now, the 40-year-old has been considered the ideal Superman for years, so his ‘passing the torch’ in a way could be seen as his blessing. Perhaps, in a way, relieve his loyal fans as they adjust to seeing a new face in the red cape.
But that only led Twitterati to come up with several ideas of how Cavill could fit in the series, and whether that is even a good idea.
Twitterati responds to the idea of Henry Cavill playing Joe-El with their own ideas
Henry Cavill as Joe-El? That is an idea that one fan has for James Gunn’s upcoming Superman Legacy. One even described this as ‘poetic’ because then Cavill could play Superman’s biological father while Tom Welling, who played the lead in Smallville, could play his ‘human dad’.
Henry Cavill, the Superman all about Kryptonian lore, playing Superman’s Kryptonian father while Tom Welling, the Clark Kent from Smallville, playing Clark’s human dad raising him in Smallville would actually be kinda fucking poetic.

I would love to see a cameo of Henry, Brandon, & Tyler as their respective Supermans watching over him as they make a decision to ask & let the new Superman join the “Supermen of the multiverse” team. That is the ultimate story I wanna see, all the versions of LA Superman bond

Another one suggests that the previous actors who played Superman be part of ‘Supermen in the multiverse’. But then, not everyone agrees with it.
He has dignity

Bro you know I think you're the goat but I think having cavil play anyone is a terrible idea considering the circumstances around how he left the role

I have been saying this for a while. He will be too busy with Warhammer to do a leading role, but he could still have a presence in a franchise that he loves.

Considering the abrupt way that Cavill walked out of Man of Steel 2, many wonder if he would even agree to play the part now. Now there are reports of him starring in and producing Warhammer, and focusing on that new franchise.
