However, the whens and whats of the project seemed to be trapped in a locker without a key. And fans must have managed to will it open as there is finally some exciting update regarding the movie.

The year’s summer has popularly come to be known as Hollywood’s hellish summer of strikes, as every anticipated movie got pushed back and every exciting filming brought to a stop. However, this slum was just the push Apple TV needed to give Henry Cavill‘s much-anticipated movie, Argylle, an official trailer.

Argylle is the brainchild of the acclaimed filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, who had said on numerous occasions that he would love to direct Henry Cavill. And when the opportunity presented itself, the director went all out as he roped in global pop icon Dua Lipa for the role. While Vaughn has secured his stars, he has yet to secure a release date for the movie or its trailer. However, the trailer will be dropping sometime soon, according to various trusted scoops.

While the makers have taken their sweet time with Argylle, this will not be the case for long. Bond or not, Henry Cavill is getting his own spy thriller franchise.

While the movie was at first presented as a standalone book adaptation of Elly Conway’s Argylle, a $200 Million deal with Apple TV seems to have accounted for a change in plans.

Matthew Vaughn was more than excited to confirm that his Henry Cavill starrer is a part of the $1 Billion deal that Apple believes will make it the next cinematic giant. While the filmmaker did not give the exact numbers, he cleverly slipped in the fact that fans can hope for a franchise. Perhaps this might just be the Henry Cavill franchise that breaks the curse. After all, the third time’s a charm.
