After taking a departure from his iconic fantasy roles, Henry Cavill is gearing up to make a mark in the spy thriller genre. Joining forces with the renowned director Matthew Vaughn, Cavill will deliver the most anticipated project of 2024, Argylle. Apart from Cavill’s collaboration with Vaughn after sixteen years, Dua Lipa’s acting debut has also been generating significant buzz around the movie. With Universal Pictures recently releasing the first teaser of the star-studded spy thriller, the hype is real. 

Vaughn has taken the inspiration for Argylle from an unreleased book under the same name, by Elly Conway. In the teaser, fans got to get a glimpse of various images, including a cat in an argylle pattern backpack. Before the release of its extended final trailer, many pictures from the movie had been blowing up on the internet. And recently, Vanity Fair shared one that has been making rounds on X. It showcases Cavill and Lipa in a dancing stance, sending fans into a frenzy. In the picture, Cavill was seen giving a lift to the ‘Levitating’ singer, setting her on top while she was doing a split.

Clearly, the picture was from a dance sequence that both the stars will share in the upcoming release. The recent teaser did not feature any bits of this and neither did the titular character. However, it definitely created a lot of intrigue with its voiceover, “Once you discover the secret, don’t let the cat out of the bag.” The teaser also featured Sam Rockwell, who drops a cat off a rooftop from Bryce Dallas’ backpack. Despite offering so many cryptic snippets, it seems that the creators are saving the best bits for 2nd February 2024, and intend to tease fans with more such sneak peeks.

No wonder social media had been buzzing, even with the limited sneak peeks of Cavill and Lipa’s first collaboration. While some were excited to see how their chemistry would unfold in the movie, others were apprehensive about the casting choice.

Moments after the sizzling shot surfaced on the internet, netizens found themselves split into two sections. While one sect adored the two, the other has their own set of doubts about the pair. 

While some could not believe how impressive Lipa looked in the shot, others playfully poked Cavill for being so lucky to share the screen with such a diva. 

Fans also took to the platform to share hilarious memes and GIFs. They said it looked as if Cavill was just about to powerbomb the 28-year-old singer. 

Many even expressed their doubts about Lipa’s acting skills. The ‘Dance the Night’ singer herself was pretty conscious of herself in the movie, and she did not want to take a big role just to spoil it.
