“He’s much more…” – Arnold Schwarzenegger Opens Up About His Recent Relationship Status With ‘Expendables’ Co-Star Sylvester Stallone
The world of entertainment is equally rewarding and tough to crack into it. The 70s and 80s had Hollywood armed itself with big guns with the advancement of editing and on-set equipment. The biggest turnover around these times was action. And at the helm of it were Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. Their staggering physiques and personas often ended up being compared. Eventually, this quest to be the best took its toll on the duo’s relationship as co-stars.

In the late 70s, Hollywood saw the start of a rocky and dueling spat between two of its biggest action heroes. Often getting ugly publicly, they even feigned to be in the same room. Regardless of their hot-headed histories, decades later the fire has died out and flowers of peace now blossom. In an interview with People, Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted that his relationship with Sylvester Stallone was “fantastic”.
Moreover, he added that he admired and “love(d) him”. In terms of their persona, The Terminator star mentioned that his former rival was “much more raw, and he’s much more vulnerable and in touch with his emotions.” Comparing each other, the 76-year-old likened the Rocky star’s reactions as quick as one were to “light a fuse.” On the other hand, he tends to take some time off to process things. Despite their differences during their early careers, the duo have maintained an amiable relationship.
However, despite starring in three of the Expendables franchise, Schwarzenegger did not join Stallone for the latest one. And he did have some valid reasons.

It is no secret that Expendables 4 or Expend4bles was one of the worst-performing box-office hits of this year. Starring Sylvester Stallone, the film lacked many of its original members, including Arnold Schwarzenegger. While Bruce Willis was out on account of his health, Terry Crews, Jet Li, and Antonio Banderas also gave it a miss. In turn, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, Megan Fox, and Tony Jaa, among others filled in.
Arnold Schwarzenegger not returning to the franchise had a very concerning reason. The star had flagged serious concerns in script-writing in the third movie. Unsatisfied with his character arc, the star gave the fourth one a miss. Admittedly so, the results of poor writing stayed as the film managed to amass the lowest-ever haul of the franchise.
