Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are two accomplished women who are among the most intriguing assets of the British Royal family. Both the Duchess and the Princess have a large individual fanbase backing them up. But despite the similarities, the Duchess of Sussex and the now Princess of Wales do not have the best reputation when it comes to getting along with each other.

The Archetypes owner ever since she entered into the royal realm made it a point to discard any unnecessary protocols. This led to her gaining the ‘rule-breaker’ title. On the other hand, Kate Middleton had always been applauded for checking all the boxes when it comes to rules and etiquette. For the unversed, Wimbledon is a major tennis tournament, one of the oldest in the world, and a pride of Great Britain. Kate Middleton is connected to the tournament more than just an attending royal as a patron of the All Englan Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. As for Meghan Markle, the tournament’s accomplished player, Serena Williams, is her friend. But what connects both these royalties at Wimbledon is their decision to wear hats, which, believe it or not, is a rule.

Tennis may be Wimbledon’s definitive expertise, but its Royal Box is the ultimate attraction. Over the years, the Royal Box has seen an array of esteemed royal members, political figures, and celebrities. However, you won’t see many of them wearing hats despite the sun. This is because the attendees are advised to ditch their hats in order to not block anyone’s view. Something that Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton chose to ignore in favor of being spared from the scathing heat of the sun.

Could this perhaps mean there is still scope for Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle to make peace?

A union between the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Sussex would be nothing short of phenomenal. However, the two of them will have to bury a lot of skeletons to get there. Especially Meghan Markle, who has publicly indicated that Kate Middleton was nothing short of rude to her throughout her years in the royal family.

This ensured a never-ending debate in which the Princess of Wales never got a say in, as this was one rule she wouldn’t break alongside Meghan Markle. It is ironic how Markle and Middleton are divided by bridesmaid dresses yet united by hats.
