Since Meghan Markle expressed an interest in returning to the lifestyle domain, the Duchess has met with more skeptics than enthusiasts. If anything, the raised eyebrows only went on an uptick with the release of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. With many fidgeting between the similarities of her and Pamela Anderson’s cooking series, tensions also arose before when Markle had to shoulder the blame game of copying Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop. However, more recently, the Paltrow vs. Markle debacle has grown even more over fans' speculation about the former parodying the Duchess’ cooking series to fire back. 

Though the assumptions know no bounds, Paltrow and Markle do, as they just cheekily shut those rumors in the coziest video yet. 

Pitting women against women is an age-old tactic. Although it could be a potential disaster, if successful, Gwyneth Paltrow and Meghan Markle know better. Just when the air grew heavy with conjectures about Paltrow’s mocking With Love, Meghan, she took to her Instagram story for a Q&A session with the fans, responding to one that asks about her comprehension of “Meghan Markle beef,” the social media thinks they have. “I genuinely do not understand this at all whatsoever,” Paltrow says before moving her camera.

The lens then pans to the Duchess of Sussex, who appeared to be munching on a snack. Paltrow threw the question towards Markle, asking, “Do you understand this?”. However, Markle just shrugged off her shoulders, clarifying without uttering a word and a mouth full of food that they both were on the same boat of confusion. Although this is not the first time fans have compared Markle’s lifestyle venture with Paltrow’s Goop, it looks like it was about time they gave fans what they want: an answer.

Now that Meghan Markle and Gwyneth Paltrow have found their way into one another’s kitchens, it is unlikely for critics to pile up more mountains of assumptions. However, they somehow forgot to stop, even after Paltrow addressed the topic previously. 

Everything the Duchess of Sussex does comes with its fair share of backlash. And her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, was no exception. Yet, Gwyneth Paltrow, who recently appeared on a Vanity Fair cover story, talked about her Montecito neighbor, Meghan Markle, and her new Netflix venture with nothing but love despite the concerns surrounding their contentious brands. Paltrow admitted she has met Markle but has yet to know her personally. 

Either way, it does not change Paltrow’s stance that the Duchess seems “lovely.” “I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes,” the Goop founder said. Paltrow also went ahead to make a case for every individual because everyone “deserves an attempt” at what they wish to try. While her confession was enough to underscore the absence of any bad blood between the two, it seems the fans’ assumptions have worked to favor a sisterhood of growth, contrary to their expectations of things going south.
