Guide to The Oscars 2024: Where, When and How to Watch The 96th Academy Awards

The trophy season is treading in its acme of distinction, with one event closing heels on another to prize the deserving masterminds of Hollywood. Starting from the Golden Globes, the season has already wrapped some of the prime events of the milieu, the last one being the People’s Choice Awards. Now, with a little more than two weeks gap, the biggest night of honoring the Academy Awards awaits, as the 96th Oscar ceremony is scheduled to unwrap on March 10th.

As the Dolby Theatre gears up to welcome the biggest stars of Tinseltown, here is the ultimate guide for streaming the event live. 

Lights, Camera, Oscars: All about the 96th Ceremony

Only recently, ABC announced that the 96th Oscars will be available for live streaming on Sunday, March 10th, at a preceding time frame from 7.00-10.30 PM EDT or 4.00-7.30 PM PDT. As per the declaration, a 30-minute pre-show from 6.30-7.00 PM EDT or 3.30-4.00 PM PDT has been in the works for connecting the live show. Following the same, the show will be available on air by ABC across 200 territories worldwide.

The ceremony will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Ovation Hollywood. For watchers on television, the broadcast will run on the ABC channel while for the online viewership, abc.com or the ABC app has it covered. The ABC app is available both for Android and IOS. Additionally, the ones watching the stream through abc.com are welcome to connect their computer devices to Roku, AppleTV, and Amazon Fire TV to enjoy a real-time experience virtually.

While the American audience might be set, the rest of the world will have to pre-plan their day or stay up all night to catch the awards show.

When will the Oscars stream in the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, and Spain?

As Hollywood’s royalty might be gearing up for a fabulous night at the 2024 Oscar Awards, the rest of the world seems to be trying to figure out when the ceremony will air for everyone else. The event might be the easiest for the Canadians, given the similarity in the timeframe. However, for fans tuning in from the UK, the show will start at 11 PM whereas fans from Spain will be tuning in at 11:30 PM.

Apart from them, Germany will also have to catch the event at the end of the workday at 5 PM on ProSieben. However, Japanese and Singaporean fans will need to wake up bright and early to catch the award show on air at 7:30 and 8:00 AM, respectively. It might seem too early for some people, but Indians might have it the worst with their streaming time beginning at 5:30 in the morning.

For viewers opting out of ABC to catch the Oscars live, the streaming will be available on Hulu Live TV, YouTube TV, AT&T TV, and Fubo TV.

Furthermore, for this year’s ceremony, Jimmy Kimmel will return as the host for the fourth time. Following the lead for the live show, ABC has also scheduled an airing for an original episode of Abbott Elementary. As probably stars across the globe will suit up their tuxedos to bring out their best show, let’s hope the audience will suit their television sets and streaming devices in time to not miss out on the night of history.
