The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might have excited the fans with their recent and most-awaited appearance. Nonetheless, the air of stress and apprehension has not ceased to exist. King Charles’ youngest has forever believed in fighting for justice and righteousness despite the hatred targeted at him. Thus, the Prince is currently invested in manifesting the same, having sued a slew of British Media houses led by Rupert Murdoch. The ongoing battle between the Duke and the ‘unforgiving’ tabloids will seemingly stretch long. At the moment, the Prince is fighting three parallel legal cases, each breaching daily headlines for some unheard, shocking revelations. 

It is no doubt that the excessive and relentless Press intrusion into the Duke’s life has made his life a subject of controversy with each passing day. In fact, he has lambasted some of the leading media houses and publications for their rampant coverage of his day-to-day life, on various occasions. However, this time, Prince Harry is in no mood to spare any of the past scandals of the British royal family.

What did Prince Harry affirm in his witness statement? 

Calling back past recollections of his troubled childhood, Guardian laid bare how Prince Harry has blasted the press for playing a significant part in aggravating it. He claimed that the British media was well aware of his pains of being normal in a “contractual relationship without any choice.” And even so, they played a larger hand in making things tougher for him as a disturbed juvenile. In the process, Prince continues, they ‘weaponized‘ his mental health and played on that. 

“Despite them all knowing about what I was dealing with throughout the years, they kept on doubling down their efforts…” claimed the enraged Prince, in open court. “That is grotesque and sadistic,” he added. And there is no doubt “they were hoping for a total and very public breakdown,” affirms the Prince in his extraordinary witness statement. 

Who is the Duke targeting? 

Prince Harry is dealing with multiple legal cases for the contentious phone hacking scandals and illegal intrusion of journalists. In fact, he also exposed the Firm’s agreement with the company papers. Ones involved in the phone hacking case, including The Sun and News of the World publication, led by Murdoch’s firm. The Duke has also sued the Parent company of the Daily Mail along with a separate case for the publisher of the Mirror. The proceedings of the latter are scheduled to go for trial next month. 

As of current updates, Murdoch’s company is trying its best to hold back Prince Harry at this stage. Lest they fail, the high-profile case will thus take place in January 2024.
