Horrible Bosses 2 is a crime comedy, serving as a sequel to 2011’s Horrible Bosses. According to Flix Patrol’s latest report, the top 10 popular movies chart in the US on January 14, 2025, includes the 2014 flick. Horrible Bosses 2 starring Jason Bateman, Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis, Jamie Foxx, Chris Pine, Charlie Day, and Christopher Waltz currently positions itself at #9, right behind The Equalizer, and just before the Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke-led classic, Me Before You.

The top 10 movie segment is led by The Fall Guy starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, followed by Tag featuring Jeremy Renner, and Jon Hamm. Liam Neeson’s In the Land of Saints and Sinners is ranked third with The Creator starring John David Washington and Lupita Nyong’o’s A Quiet Place: Day One succeeding it. The Equalizer 2 featuring Pedro Pascal and Red One starring Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans complete the 6th and 7th blanks, rounding out the movie marathon.

Revisiting the recipe for revenge in Horrible Bosses 2, Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston proved to be a match made in movie heaven. But what was the plot that brought this dynamic duo together again?

Three years after the success of the dark comedy, came Horrible Bosses 2, serving as a sequel to the 2011 movie. The film, directed by Sean Andres and written by Andres and John Morris, follows the same iconic cast. The plot revolves around the trio of Nick Hendricks (Bateman), Kurt Buckman (Jason Sudeikis), and Dale Arbus (Charlie Day), as they kidnap a billionaire’s son to exact revenge following a deadbeat business deal. 

The film hit the theaters on November 26, 2014, and was a commercial success, grossing $107.7 million against a $42 million budget. Although it fell short in capitalizing on the box-office momentum Horrible Bosses saw, earning $209.8 million with a $35-37 million budget, with its second wind on streaming a decade later, fans have officially rendered it a timeless masterpiece, and it shows.
