Good Boy Henry Cavill Explores His Crazy in ‘The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’ Nail Biting Trailer
After a major snub as DC’s Superman and an exit from Netflix’s The Witcher, Henry Cavill has brought out the big guns to mark his box office comeback. Staying true to his promise, a fresh and first new trailer for Guy Ritchie’s World War II spy thriller, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, just dropped. On course to land in theaters on April 19, 2024, the trailer opened in the thick of the plot’s premise with Cavill’s character, Gust March Phillips, being handed over a mission from a sergeant.
The trailer showcased a twirly-haired Cavill assembling his team to fulfill the task. Described as “no good,” the penalty for the mission’s failure will see not only them but also England subject to defeat and under siege by warring German forces. Showcasing his rugged dynamics and sheer bulked-up physical stature, the British actor brought out expressions that perhaps yet remained unexpected of him, bordering on outright “reckless”. As the trailer faded to black, its gritty tone, an unhinged Henry Cavill, and blistering political drama stood highlighted poignantly.

The 2-minute teaser laden with shots of blood washing off hands, the lead character laughing menacingly, and of course, unabated big-budget artillery upped the ante for the flick. The opening shots placed the film’s setting during the U-boat warfare time of the Second World War, with Britain standing just across the fence from Germany-occupied shores. Finally, an element of well-crafted intrigue and action complete with guerilla tactics, underwater combat, and, an unruly team dynamic.
The many shots of this movie stood in sharp contrast to the more recent and upcoming flick of the 40-year-old actor with Matthew Vaughn.

Ready to drop in theaters on February 2, Argylle has Henry Cavill play the titular lead in a meta-universe set by Matthew Vaughn. The flick will ride on the usual clean-shaven look of the actor aside from a heavily debated hairstyle. Meanwhile, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare will have him take on a rugged appearance far beyond his mustache outlook in Mission Impossible: Fallout. Doubling down on physical ruggedness, the movie’s realism lies bare.
Regardless, the two box office releases in the first half of 2024 will kick-start a comeback for the actor. The Justice League star last made his big screen appearance in a nearly 10-second cameo for 2022’s Black Adam. However, he has a slew of potential projects lined up ahead. After The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Henry Cavill will likely appear alongside Millie Bobby Brown for Enola Holmes 3. Thereafter, a Highlander reboot followed by a live-action Warhammer 40K universe stay in the making.
