King Charles’ coronation has undoubtedly filled the people of the United Kingdom with much anticipation and excitement. The Kingdom is thrilled to witness its once-in-a-generation historic event. However, that is not the case with every English city in the Kingdom. Weeks before King Charles geared up with the coronation, he had already faced some resistance to his term as monarch in various parts of the Kingdom. On the other hand, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been winning all love from fans all over.

As reported by Guardian, the latest survey reveals that the people of Nottingham are not interested in the forthcoming crowning ceremony. The people in the midlands are “least moved by the coronation” read the report of the polling. Prominent figures of English society have listed their own reasons for not being invested in the ceremony. Several believe people should not be privileged from their birth. It’s the actions that speak. While a few also shared a widespread ambivalence. They would not protest, but nor do they agree with the Monarchy. “It’s outdated,” said another.

The abhorrence towards the crown has grown so bad, that netizens wish to go for an anti-monarchy party ahead of the coronation. Locals have even planned a “F*ck the King” party on Friday, a day before the King ascends to the throne.

Nevertheless, despite the indifference to the Crown, the Nottingham public does have a royal pair to look up to. It’s none other than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Sam Harrison, a prominent member of the society, has affirmed that the only royals the public is interested in are the Sussexes. Recalling their first-ever Royal visit of 2017, Harrison described how “people in the streets were electrified”.

They were craning their necks,” added the resident, while also claiming that it was not as surprising. The reason is, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “superstars on a global level”. Not only were they elated to welcome the American princess among themselves, they even doubt if King Charles’ coronation will be anything similar to their favorite royal visit.
