It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Glenn Howerton has made quite an impression on himself in his role as Dennis Reynolds. Starring alongside Rob McElhenney has had its effect on him as he has remained public for his love of soccer. In one such instance of which, he met another lover of sports, the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry. The estranged royal, who currently stays busy navigating the thin lines of maintaining a positive public outlook, made quite a first impression on the actor.

In a recent exchange of conversation, Howerton dissected the finer details of his reception of the same.

The American actor remains quite popular for his stints alongside McElhenney as well as A.P. Bio. However, back in September 2023, he took to a star-studded gathering of his own as he met Prince Harry alongside the Wrexham co-owner. The trio had posed for a picture during David Beckham’s Inter Miami CF and LAFC’s clash in Los Angeles. In talks with People, Howerton recalled that moment and put his perception of the Duke as “He’s cool, man”.

The 47-year-old actor then went on to expand with “I mean, he’s not a normal dude, but he comes, he presents as a normal dude.” The remarks came at a time when the last year highlighted the Sussexes trying to get themselves a fair deal of prominence within mainstream Hollywood, including a possible appearance on The Kardashians. Thus, Howerton’s impressions come across as wholly positive as he finally settled with having Prince Harry as a “very nice, very down to earth, normal dude”.

Prince Harry took the UK government to court, challenging the Home Office’s 2020 decision to reduce his security cover. The Duke also argued that the move essentially made him fear for his family’s security, forcing him to leave for the US. In sharp contrast, however, letters from the late Queen Elizabeth II highlighted her urgency in seeking utmost cover for her grandson.

In his case, the Prince argued that a possible royal hand could lie in the downgrade of his security. Yet, the letters of care from the late monarch state otherwise. The sharp divide came across as another point of contention between the two factions whose relations have stooped to near-irreconcilable lows.
