Amidst the reshuffling era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, questions abound about who will rise to carry the mantle of this superhero saga forward without faltering. With fresh faces stepping up alongside veterans returning to the fray, anticipation for the next chapter of the MCU has soared to unbelievable heights. But before the cinematic fireworks light up the box office, both the old and newcomers are dreaming of their heroic return, and among them is Gabriel Luna, who recently expressed his desire to reunite with Pedro Pascal in the superhero arena.
Though The Fantastic Four’s first steps are still ways off, could the stars align to form Luna’s ultimate superhero brotherhood?

In a recent conversation with Screen Rant at the 2025 South by Southwest premiere of The Astronaut, Gabriel Luna addressed the possibility of getting back on the screen with Pedro Pascal, but in the superhero fold. Luna portrayed Pascal’s brother in the hit HBO series The Last of Us and played Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4. And if given a chance to reunite in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Pascal, it looks like Luna would like to go all in.
“Oh hell yeah,” Luna responded. Before this, Ghost Rider was supposed to receive a spin-off, but ultimately, the plans never materialized. Consequently, Luna thought the superhero days were behind him. Although Marvel has teased the possibility of bringing back the character with a new Ghost Rider project, Luna’s return was not enlisted as said and done. Moreover, Luna is not the only one interested in the Marvel character’s iteration.
Yet, this is not the first time Gabriel Luna gave air to his desire to return as Ghost Rider.
Gabriel Luna’s door is always open for the Marvel Cinematic Universe
In a 2023 conversation with Forbes, Gabriel Luna shed light on the possibilities of an MCU comeback amidst a fanfare of urge for his return. “Oh, I love that character,” the actor said, laying out Ghost Rider’s history and how it came to being by Felipe Smith. “It feels like the demand may be there and if the creative is there and it makes sense…” Luna mused before adding that it could still be a few years until Marvel addresses the character again.

Should Marvel Studios do it, however, Luna said, “I’m always open.” This attitude was actually quite a shift from his usual “stock answer” where he feared the possibility of messing up Ghost Rider with a second return. But at the time, he let go of those phobias and shared he was a lot more open about the opportunity if it ever came around to that. Though it remains to be seen if the Marvel executives hear it out, if they do, the studio has quite the star-powered brotherhood to bank on in the future.
