As the news of his untimely death appeared on the screen, celebrities and other notable individuals began to express their sympathies. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shared a poignant message for his high school friend on his official X (previously Twitter) profile. The Prime Minister labeled the actor’s untimely death as “shocking” and “saddening.” He also shared a lovely reminiscence of how he and Perry used to play schoolyard games. Other celebs also chimed in to express their feelings about the tragedy.
Warner Bros., which produced all ten seasons of the popular sitcom, issued a statement hailing Perry as an “incredibly gifted actor.” Further, Piers Morgan added that he was a “great actor” but a “tormented guy” and that his biography was one of the most poignant and honest things he had ever read. Additionally, the entire globe wept as British singer-songwriter Adele paused her Las Vegas show to pay tribute to Perry. She also remarked that she will “remember the character” for the rest of her life.
The Friends universe would not be the same without Chandler Bing. To add to the sadness, his prominent Friends co-stars also paid their final respects to their beloved Matthew Perry.

The first one to release a statement was Maggie Wheeler, Perry’s on-again, off-again girlfriend on the popular sitcom. The actress posted a touching message on her Instagram account with a throwback picture of herself and the actor. In the caption, she mentioned, “What a loss,” and the world shall miss the magic that was Matthew Perry. She further said that she feels “blessed” for every moment they shared. The next to join her was Morgan Fairchild, who played Perry’s on-screen mother, Nora Bing.
Fairchild, who had a rocky on-screen relationship with the actor, had a very loving relationship off-screen. She posted a picture of Chandler walking down the aisle on his wedding day with Monica on her X (previously Twitter) account. She went on to say that she is heartbroken over the sudden death of her “son,” and that she is expressing her sympathies to his father, John Perry, with whom she worked on Falcon Crest.
