The US Network TV show, currently a Netflix favorite, Suits, has undoubtedly formed a significant part of Markle’s life. Not only did she flourish professionally, but also gained a gem of a friend from the sets who supported her at every turn of life. Abigail Spencer, a name that tops the list of the closest associates of Meghan Markle, shares an uncanny connection with the Duchess. 

As surprising as it is, the co-worker turned best friends, share the same birth date along with the same calendar year. Thus, along with Markle, Spencer also turned 42 the previous day, with their fans pouring their wishes from all corners of the world. Nonetheless, their friendship runs deeper than just shared birthday parties.

Meghan Markle and Abigail Spencer are friends before Markle became a royal

The California talent and Spencer date back to the early two thousand as both budding stars were trying to get their big shot at Hollywood. As Spencer once revealed to ET, the two met at the auditions for Suits, quite a decade before Markle tied the knot with Prince Harry. Crossing paths with Markle for the first time, Spencer said, “She was just so stunning and there was just something about her, and that’s how we met.“

The Florida native played the part of Dana Scott, famously called Scottie throughout the series. As the two bonded over the series, Spencer also started being a part of Markle’s life when the cameras were not rolling. Later, in the year 2020, amidst the rumors or the thunderous fallout, Abigail Spencer also joined the couple on their much-talked-about Canada trip. The group had a great time out with their closely-knit bunch of friends and family on the serene, idyllic hikes on Canada’s Victoria Island. 

Nonetheless, as the Duchess turned into a mom, life at the royal premises, along with the struggles of young parents, took a toll on the Duchess. Thus, frequent association with friends from Hollywood became a luxury for both the royal and her friends. However, when things went completely south, they met again.

Along with prominent Sussex supporters like Tyler Perry, Serena Williams, Abigail Spencer, too, was a significant stakeholder in bringing the truth before the public. Speaking of the times Markle and Prince Harry went along with their royal duties, the actress said, “The work that they were doing…” seemed to be amazing, said Spencer.
