Jennifer Aniston will always be known to the masses as one-half of Ross and Rachel from the popular NBC show, Friends. In conversation with The Wall Street Journal, the Legally Blonde diva revealed that she and Jennifer Aniston started what they called the “girl club” on the set of The Morning Show which is backed by Aniston’s and Witherspoon’s media companies. Witherspoon also shared what it was really like for women in this male-dominated industry and how with their show The Morning Show, they have created a “chick club” not unlike their own version of Greta Gerwig’s Barbieworld.
The duo talked about how this endeavor has been their easiest since they have full creative control, and share “a level of understanding, compassion and consideration” that most of their male counterparts have failed to share. Jennifer Aniston even went on to say that the show has been the therapy that she needed for the last twenty years.
Their interview spoke volumes about what women in the industry had to face and exuded how much the actresses were tired of navigating through that toxicity. Even though the actresses are set to tackle the 3rd Season of The Morning Show, the actresses have a long history that actually starts with Friends.
The Barbies go way back
Back when the Sweet Home Alabama star was just starting out, she landed the role of Jill Green, Rachel’s youngest sister. But unlike her spoilt character, Witherspoon was not making much while working on the set. Thanks to the cast’s negotiations that changed soon, with each member making 1 million per episode.
