James Gunn’s takeover of the DC has been quite a roller coaster ride. Shortly after the director became the franchise’s new CEO, he shook DC to its roots. While Gunn brought some major changes, one of his questionable decisions was axing out Henry Cavill as Superman. We are no strangers to the drama that unfolded following the shocking event. Months later, things seemed to fall in place and DC even announced its new Superman. However, the latest announcement has yet again fumed the fan base as an interesting theory emerges online.

Following Cavill’s departure from DC, numerous theories about the actor’s exit surfaced online. While each theory suggested a different reason, fans were convinced that it was Gunn who axed the actor from the role. The Suicide Squad director went on to reveal how he was looking for a younger actor to play the part. However, as Gal Gadot announced the third installment of Wonder Woman 3, a fan took to Twitter with a theory that baffled the Cavill fanbase. A Twitterati with the username Teej recently made an interesting revelation.

He wrote that both Robert Pattinson and Gal Gadot, despite being a year or two younger than Cavill, still enjoy their roles last DC. However, Cavill, who turned 40 last year, was axed by Gunn since he wanted a younger actor to play Superman. The user concluded his tweet by urging the fans to “MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.“

Meanwhile, the third installment of Wonder Woman has been very questionable. There is a bit of back and forth regarding Wonder Woman 3. However, the Red Notice actress recently hinted that she would soon be working on the threequel alongside James Gunn and Peter Safran. While the news may or may not be true, it was enough to reignite the fumes among the Cavill fan base.

Unsurprisingly, the tweet shook the entire Cavill fan base. Not only were the fans highly upset, but they also went all guns blazing at the DC boss James Gunn. While some called him a Joke, others added how he ruined Batman and Superman. One Cavill even commented that the management did him a favor by not wasting his talent.

On the other hand, there seemed to be a fraction of fans siding with the director. A user pointed out that the director precisely wanted to reboot Superman and Batman, not the entire DC, hence Wonder Woman 3 had nothing to do with Cavill’s departure. Another fan added, that Gunn simply wanted a young actor to play Superman, and that is all there was to it.
