4 Roles Marvel’s Latest Recruit Giancarlo Esposito Can Play Matching His Acting Prowess
Some actors take pride in their shape-shifting ability to slide into various roles, while other performers do not seem to mind typecasting. Giancarlo Esposito is one such actor who, over the last half-century, has continually reshaped the notion of 'type' in some of the most iconic movies. He has been in the acting game for over four decades, but it was in the last ten years that have really branded the actor as one of the top-notch bad guys out there. Now that Esposito is a part of the Marvel universe, the big question is - who will he suit up as?
Here are four Marvel roles that Giancarlo Esposito could perfectly do justice to in the Marvel universe.
Kang

When the rumors about Giancarlo Esposito passing on a role in Marvel’s Loki began circulating, everyone speculated that he might have been offered the part of the main villain, Kang the Conqueror. Given the Parish actor's knack for playing intricate and ominous villains, he would have been a natural fit for an elder rendition of the time-traveling antagonist.
Kang's origins trace back to the Fantastic Four comics, but he has since evolved into a force to be reckoned with. With Marvel Studios diving into the Fantastic Four universe post-Fox acquisition, pitting them against Kang is certainly on the table.
Esposito's intense and somber performance style would suit the character of Kang perfectly.
Galactus
Strip away the massive purple helmet, and Giancarlo Esposito could convincingly embody the all-powerful Devourer of Worlds with some CGI magic. He could make a fantastic Galactus, not just due to his acting skills and emotive facial expressions but also because of his deep, commanding voice, which aligns perfectly with this powerful character.
He could bring this character to life with a dark and menacing aura that can even send shivers down viewers' spines. Even if it does not rely heavily on stunts like other villains in the universe, Esposito could infuse the role with humanity and empathy, much like Josh Brolin did with Thanos.
Beyonder
When Giancarlo Esposito speaks, it is hard not to pay attention, which is exactly what is needed for the Beyonder. What is even more intriguing is that because the character is not as mainstream as others, there is an opportunity to redefine Beyonder as a figure with more internal conflict and weight tied to his powers.
The Breaking Bad actor could effortlessly turn Beyonder into a reluctant foe with the potential for growth in the MCU, despite his personal wish to have been a part of DC. This leads to the final character Esposito could tackle: one who ascended to godhood by usurping the powers of the cosmic being, Beyonder.
Doctor Doom

Among all the vacant Marvel roles, none are fancasted as frequently as Doctor Doom. The ruler of Latveria has intrigued MCU enthusiasts across the globe, and the name that continuously emerges at the forefront of discussions is Giancarlo Esposito.
In the comics, Doom is depicted as a megalomaniac and a genius proficient in both science and magic. While the vintage '60s comics portrayed him in a more extravagant light, Esposito could bring a more down-to-earth and realistic interpretation to Doom.
