Who can ever forget Hollywood’s very own action superstar, Arnold Schwarzenegger? Although he started off as a bodybuilder, he later found that his passions were scattered throughout various industries. From fitness to acting and even politics, The Terminator star proved he is not only a jack of all trades but also a master. However, while the actor was still carving out his career path,  he also got his first taste of America.

Even though it was all that he had dreamed about as a child, the actor’s first impression of the United States was underwhelming, to say the least.

After making his way to the US as a bodybuilder, Arnold Schwarzenegger was living his childhood dreams. However, it was not what it seemed like in the magazines back in Germany. The actor revealed his first experience of Los Angeles in a recent interview with Jay Shetty. Most people would have expected the star to be captivated by the shining lights and Hollywood Boulevard. But he claims that was not the case. The 76-year-old recalled his excitement of finally making it to the United States with other bodybuilders.

After competing in Florida, he made his way to Los Angeles. Even though the “highrises and beautiful hotels” made the star fall in love, his experience with LA played out differently. The Terminator star said that he had expected to see “all the things” that made him want to come to the Land of Liberty. However, his experience of Hollywood did not live up to his expectations. In fact, instead of seeing studios and billboards all over Hollywood Boulevard, he only caught a view of “homeless people” running rampant and “weirdos.

His recent conversation with Jay Shetty revealed his disappointing first experience in the Land of the Brave. But that did not faze him. In 1968, Arnold Schwarzenegger ended up moving to the States and the rest is now history. In fact, the actor has even gone into detail about many of his experiences in his life to give his fans insights. However, with his latest revelation as to why he prioritizes his health, the 76-year-old may begin slowing down a little over the coming years.
