Recently, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he had taken “accent removal lessons” when his acting career had taken off. After talking about his upcoming book, Kimmel asked the actor whether it was true that he had taken such classes. Though the former bodybuilder immediately accepted it, he also made a joke about how he should get his “money back” as they did not help him lose his Austrian accent.
Schwarzenegger went on to discuss how the “speech doctor,” Robert East, would teach the most famous Hollywood stars “how to create accents.” But for the FUBAR star, it was a whole different ballgame. Instead of trying to gain more accents, he focused on dialing back his already existing accent. Unfortunately, East was unfamiliar with that area and could not help the star, though he really did try.
While his speech lessons may have been a waste of money, Schwarzenegger took it in his stride and embraced his differences. However, the attention soon swayed to his upcoming book.
