The American streaming giant has got some impending issues to worry about and so do the collaborators who struck mouth-watering lucrative deals with it. For instance, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have quite breached the headlines for their multi-million dollar deal with Netflix. Back in 2020, the couple struck a $100 million deal with Netflix in collaboration with their Archewell Foundation. The media of Archewell has been working relentlessly since the commencement of the contract. The end result was a massive mountain-shattering docuseries that sent shockwaves around the world.

However, all of it might now come to a temporary halt as there seems to be some financial uproar in the industry. As reported by Express, a $43 million financial earthquake has hit both the streaming platform and another media giant, Spotify. Writing for News.au royal commentator Daniela Elser expressed how it has been two and a half years plus since the couple signed their names “on the dotted line”. Both the companies that had struck the deal with the Sussexes have lost not less than $50 million in market value. Not to mention, the massive staff layoff that caused a stir across the sector.

With a value denigration as such, the commentator further narrated how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might need to incur the losses. Elser expressed how they were looking forward to more projects like the award-winning Podcast, Archetypes, and the bombshell docuseries. However, following them “came nothing more”. Searching for explanations for the delay, Elser is of the opinion that if not for anything else, the financial turmoil of the respective companies is threatening the Sussexes deal.
