Not long ago, the first look of the ensemble from Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon surfaced online. As religious fans would know, the director is all set to create a whole new film universe at the streamer. The first installment of the epic sage saga will grace our screens towards the end of this year. While we all await the film’s release, the sequel to the movie is already in place. Latest reports by What’s on Netflix suggest that the second installment of Rebel Moon will grace our screens sooner than expected.

The reports read that Rebel Moon 2 will probably hit theaters in April 2024. Considering the fact that the new sci-fi will release in December, a five-month gap between the sequels is impressive and surprising. Meanwhile, Netflix has already ordered the release of two films shot throughout 2022. 

In addition to the film’s poster that dropped recently, the teaser for Netflix’s space opera is likely to grace our screens in the next few days. The Army of Dead director took to Twitter as he announced that the teaser for the upcoming project would release at the video game event, Games Com, set to take place in August. It has almost been years since the Rebel Moon universe seems to be in development. The project will also be the first time the director is entering the realm of the sci-fi genre. However, it might surprise you to know that the sci-fi epic was initially meant to be a Star Wars film. 

As many of us know, Snyder has been a huge fan of the Star Wars franchise. The story of Rebel Moon being a Star Wars film goes back to 2012. Originally, the director wanted to pitch the movie as a spin-off to the sci-fi film series. However, when Disney took over Lucasfilm, things took a turn. With Snyder creating the universe, he joined Netflix and is all set to release his first film on December 22 this year.
