Believe it or not, there was a time when Prince Harry and Kate Middleton used to share a heartwarming bond with each other. Over the years, there have been numerous developments within the royal family that had a detrimental effect on their relationship. The biggest catalyst that cleaved their relationship in two was Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare. The pages of the memoir contained several allegations and accusations against the royal family. 

Recently, a close source revealed that Kate Middleton has no plans to reconcile with the 39-year-old after his contentious autobiography. This calls for a moment to reflect on the times fans got to see their beautiful relationship before it took a downturn. 

Prince Harry called Kate Middleton the sister he had never had 

Though Prince Harry dropped many bombshells in his autobiography, it also contained some touching passages. In one chapter, he wrote about his relationship with his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. He reflected on the day they welcomed Princess Catherine to the family. The Prince shared how delighted he was for his brother, Prince William, and the new beginnings of his wedded life. He called Middleton, the sister he never had and always wanted.

Prince Harry then went on to call Middleton a perfect match for his older brother and he was happy knowing that his brother had a partner for life. He also shared in one extract he liked Middleton’s laugh and made efforts to bring a smile to her face. The pictures of Prince Harry and Kate Middleton, laughing alongside each other, are a testament to this.

In the year 2012, Prince Harry and Kate Middleton paid a visit to the Team GB House on the ninth floor of Westfield Stratford. This visit was a part of their royal summer of sport. Both the in-laws looked incredibly adorable, cheering for their favorite teams. While Kate Middleton brimmed with excitement at synchronized swimming, Prince Harry found a shoulder to lean on while watching the women’s beach volleyball final. 

Though it was not Kate Middleton’s shoulder, the young Prince had his fans in awe with his adorable gestures. The Prince also made a surprise visit to the Commonwealth compatriots while Kate Middleton enjoyed the nail-biting matcher with her husband, Prince William. The Olympic games were sure to become an enduring chapter in both the royals’ recollections.

The duo not only shared a common love for sports but also were committed potterheads. This calls for a look back to the time when both Prince Harry and Kate Middleton visited the Harry Potter sets.

Princess of Wales and Duke of Sussex had a wand battle 

Two of the things that Britishers can never (not) talk about are – the royal family and J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter. In the year 2013, the chaotic duo visited the Warner Bros studio Leavesden, along with Prince William. Following their visit, fans even compared the trio to Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ronald Weasley. With them, they also brought 500 children from different charities to the studio. 

The royals saw all the props and costumes and took some mini wand lessons, pictures of which are still surfacing on the web. They even visited the Diagon Alley and the Great Hall of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, along with the group of children they brought with them. In one picture from the day, the Wales, along with Prince Harry, raised their wands to pay tribute to the Harry Potter trio.

The media and royal photographers pictured Prince Harry and Kate Middleton several times. In one picture, Prince Harry leaned in to whisper something in Middleton’s ears, to which the princess of Wales burst out in laughter. This picture was taken from the Thanksgiving service to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012 at St Paul’s Cathedral. The motive of this service was to pay tribute to the majesty and it took place at regular intervals. 

Prince Harry and Kate Middleton looked incredibly comfortable with each other throughout the service. While the clean-shaven prince mumbled things in Middleton’s ears, the then-Duchess appeared to get the giggles. Both of them wore matching Adidas merchandise, making them look like true siblings.

Prince Philip’s funeral was one of the last times when Kate Middleton and Prince Harry interacted with each other. Both the royals met each other after thirteen months following their last meeting, which was at the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey. By this time, the Sussexes had already made their infamous exit from the royal family. Despite the differences, royal expert Nicoll told ET that Middleton “made a point of speaking to Harry.” 

The source also shared that they looked “relaxed” once Middleton attempted to talk to Prince Harry. Almost two years after this meeting, the Duke of Sussex released his memoir, which severed their relationship forever. Royal commentator Jennie Bond recently revealed that the Princess of Wales was “deeply hurt’ by the shocking memoir. She has no plans to ever connect with the California-based royal again, marking the end of their beautiful bond.
