While the upcoming spy thriller, Argylle carries a mysterious plot in itself, the enigma around its writer, Elly Conway, is even more puzzling. Lately, online domains are shrouded in whispers of a possible connection between Taylor Swift and the writer of the book this flick is adapted from. Although it has been made clear that the Matthew Vaughn-directed espionage movie is not a creation of the 12-time Grammy winner, the question remains, who is Elly Conway?

Who is Elly Conway and where is she from?

While very little is known about Conway, Penguin Books’ biography of her suggests that she hails from New York. She has achieved the remarkable feat of landing a $200 million deal with Apple through her first gig as a writer. The Argylle author was supposedly born and raised in the upstate region of NYC. 

It was here that she worked her first job. 

What did she do before writing?

Before the Argylle wordsmith treated the world to her literary espionage masterpiece, she apparently worked as a waitress. According to the biography, she was stationed at a late-night diner. It was here that she found the time and inspiration to write the novel that is now being turned into a star-studded flick. 

Which books have the Argylle author written before?

This may come as a surprise to many, but Argylle is Conway’s debut novel/script. Considering how well she delivered her first piece of fiction, she is bound to churn out more enthralling works of fiction. So far, the first chapter of her novel on which the upcoming thriller is based has not been released. 

Not only is she new to the industry, she has done nothing to promote her work. 

She is definitely not Taylor Swift and will keep writing

The theories around Swift being Conway have not only gripped netizens but also Matthew Vaughn’s daughter! While revealing this story the Kick-Ass director confirmed that Swift is certainly not Conway. He also told Total Films earlier that there will be another Argylle film after the first comes out on 2nd February. 

Elly Conway is absent from the grid

While the world is singing praises of the novel and the engaging plot it carries, Conway does not seem like the type to toot her horn. She has next to no social media presence. An account that carries her name has no posts to show as of now, meaning that she never used online marketing to endorse her work.
