In every version of the superhero, Clark Kent had always worn glasses to throw people off about his real identity. When Henry Cavill took on the role, the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice costume designer Michael Wilkinson realized that regular glasses were not working for the now 40-year-old. The problem was that they seemed too high on his nose. So, he found a solution to the problem.
The costume designer reached out to the well-known spectacle designer, Tom Davies, to find Cavill something that worked better for his chiseled face. Luckily, the creative managed to do just that and bring the team's idea to life with customized glasses for the star.
While Cavill had already played the part of Superman once before, the problem could have occurred because of the star’s surprisingly sudden bulk.
Fun fact #2 - Henry Cavill got bigger every time he played Superman
When Henry Cavill became Superman, the actor understood the importance of bulking up to play such an iconically strong character. During Zack Snyder's 2013 film, he stunned fans all over the world with his muscular build. However, the second time around, the star seemed to come back even bigger than he was before. With more defined muscle, it ended up being revealed that he had increased his weight to 220 lbs.
Although Cavill always put 110% effort into his character, the self-burdened responsibility ended up becoming too much for the actor to take. After all, with the 40-year-old having faced issues with his body when he was younger, the role took quite a toll on him and his mental health.
Fun fact #3 - Ben Affleck almost gave up Batman
Years before Henry Cavill landed his breakthrough role in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, Ben Affleck had been offered the opportunity to direct the film. Although the idea was intriguing, the actor turned it down because he believed that he did not know enough about visual effects, which would be a major chunk of the superhero film. Just shortly after that, the 51-year-old was approached to play the role of Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Although he was close to turning it down, Affleck changed his mind after a quick meeting with Snyder. The two had discussed the character and the director even shared some of the concept art for him to get an idea of the opportunity laid in front of him. Thankfully, it worked wonders as the star brought the caped crusader to life for the world to see.
Fun fact #4 - The lack of a detailed script
When Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice came out in 2016, the sheer amount of Hollywood stars captivated fans all over the world in the film. The entire scene was packed with various celebrities, from Henry Cavill to Gal Gadot and more. However, there was one thing that fans did not seem to notice much. It was the fact that the dialogue in the film was rather limited.
With Cavill having only 42 lines in the entire movie and Gadot 16, it proved that the Zack Snyder film was more of an experience than just another superhero film, which some celebrities seem to be getting tired of.

With the next project being on a much larger scale with more stars and more intrigue, the decision was made to once again redo the 40-year-old's suit.
After all, with Cavill gaining more muscle since filming Man of Steel, it made sense for the costume designer, Michael Wilkinson, to upgrade the iconic suit.
