5 Actors Who Will Be Perfect to Play Agent Venom in the New Sony Spider-Man Universe Project
When the fan-favorite web-slinger of Marvel Comics landed in Sony, little did fans know the studio would soon churn out a universe of its own based on Spider-Man and beyond him, with a special focus on Spider-Man baddies. Although Sony did not hit the mark with all its web-slinging action, its latest addition, Venom: The Last Dance did, and in turn, rolled the red carpet for the upcoming and new.
Now, with Sony expanding its Spiderman Universe project with a slew of new releases, here are our best picks who could be the studio’s best bet to play Agent Venom in the future.
Chris Zylka

Sony’s unclasping its gamble in the superhero universe naturally calls for some super-baddies to show up. Though Venom: The Last Dance already filled in for that, the studio has a far more expansive plan since Daniel Richtman recently reported on his Patreon handle that an Agent Venom film is reportedly in the works. Fresh faces have a penchant for putting the unseen to the forefront whenever they skin a character with a history of its own however that does not apply to Chris Zylka.
Having already played Flash Thompson in the Andrew Garfield-led Amazing Spider-Man 2, Zylka is a fan-favorite contender for the role. With Garfield’s return as Spider-Man, the chances for Zylka are not far off the coast despite the difference in universes. One of the biggest worries with comic adaptations is that creators often wander too far from the original source material, and some stars just do not have the skills to pull it off.
Zylka’s iteration of Flash Thompson did not explore Agent Venom, occurring later in the comics, but his portrayal was faithful to the comic book character’s originality. And if Peter Parker’s high-school bully could give off the villainous chants, who knows? Agent Venom might just be next on Zylka’s wish list.
Tony Revolori
Another actor who could bring life to Agent Venom with experience as Flash Thompson from the coattails of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Tony Revolori. Revolori played Flash in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home. Although his appearance was in a minor quotient in the three films, Revolori’s portrayal of Peter Parker’s high-school bully was a little different from the characteristic tropes seen in Flash.
To put it into words, Revolori’s take on Flash was a bit comedic and awkward, and despite his initial rivalry, he grew more friendly with Peter. Unlike Chris Zylka, this Flash Thompson was a diversion from the comic book traits and the tropes that were explored before in the adaptation that he is a bully. But what ties both Zylka's and Revolori’s appearances as Flash Thompson is they never became Agent Venom.

Even without the latter part, they have, however, met halfway with the character through their portrayals and surely could make use of that mastery in Sony’s upcoming slate.
Dacre Montgomery
Other than actors who have been in the proximity of Agent Venom, whether in his earlier state, stars who could bring flavor and justice to the big bad are the dwellers of the supernatural. And Dacre Montgomery sure has the knack for it, having been integral to action-oriented projects in the land of extraordinary like Stranger Things and Power Rangers. While his acting range adds depth to unveiling characters, his impressive credit list in the action world complements the combat skills needed by the supervillain.
Characteristically, Montgomery could fit like a glove to the comic character for several reasons, but the most convincing yet is his age, which aligns with Flash Thompson’s in the comics when he becomes Agent Venom. Moreover, Montgomery’s physicality and build are tailor-made for Agent Venom’s larger-than-life force. And if that is not persuasive enough, Montgomery has also made rounds in fan-casting discussions in Sony’s Spider-Man universe, making his potential cast more fan-centric and, in turn, a weapon of a box office draw.
Michael Provost
An actor who could characteristically fit the portrayal of Agent Venom for Sony, without a doubt, is Michael Provost. The actor, who is currently in his mid-20s, could also align with Flash Thompson’s age in the comics when he evolved to Agent Venom. Meanwhile, his particularly lean, athletic build could be put to use for the character’s acrobatic movements without extra effort. Like Dacre Montgomery, Provost has often made it to fan discussions as a popular choice for Agent Venom because of his capacity to portray complex characters.
Plus, with Sony expanding its universe, Provost’s age could be a game-changer. He can stick around to play the character longer, and his youthful charm might just give Agent Venom a whole new makeover. On top of that, he has mad action skills from his previous projects, so he can rock those epic intense battles known in the superhero realm. Therefore, it looks like Provost could save Agent Venom and give Sony's box office a serious boost.
John Boyega
When Venom: The Last Dance came to overpower the DC hype, it also hinted at Venom’s survival despite Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock’s departure, prompting netizens to show up to throw their hats in the ring. And one of the most compelling cases ever made by fans online is for John Boyega to take on the mantle. Boyega’s strong build is already cut from the same cloth as any extraordinary force, and his age alignment is good to go with Agent Venom.

While the action-oriented experiences are additional flavors to his potential cast, his association with Star Wars could somewhat lead to typecasting. Yet, his passion for breathing life into complex characters offers a glimmer of hope that Agent Venom will be portrayed in a truly compelling way.
After all, Venom's identity and moral dilemmas are at the heart of the story. Fans have rallied behind Boyega for his striking physical resemblance, impressive action chops, and dramatic flair, setting him apart from other fan favorites. Of course, the studio will need to weigh the actor’s interest in the role and his chemistry with the character, but Boyega still stands out as a top contender for the Venom legacy.
